Thursday's Nail Combination!

I've decided that it would be a fun idea to share my nail combinations each time I give myself a new manicure, I just love playing around with colours and patterns and adding cure details like glitter polish or a metallic or foil polish as an accent nail.

So this will be my first Nail Combination post, this is today's combination, and Its Barry M Bright Red on all My nails with two coats of Red Glitter polish on my index finger nail and my pinky nail too! (I love calling my little finger my pinky! ha ha ha)

I love this combination, I just wish I had a red polish which matched the glitter a bit better, or the other way round. You can see in the photo below that the red polish is a really bright pillar box red where as the glitter is a darker red so they don't quite match. But, personally, I think that adds a little sumin' sumin' to them! Makes them stand out!

I hope you enjoyed my first Nail Combinations post, share your nail combinations below or tweet me a picture @RebeccaHooper.

Going Glittery!

Glittery Ring Finger! This is a trend I've loved for ages, I just think it adds something a little extra to your nails, just having that little bit of sparkle to look and always makes me smile! ha ha

But recently I've been changing my glittery nail manicure around to something a bit more exciting and unexpected, I've been painting all my nails one colour (my favourite at the minute is Shocking Pink) and then painting my little pinky nail and my index finger nail in a glitter polish (with the Shocking Pink I like to use Once Upon A Time). I think this just changes the way your manicure looks, it adds something and lets you stand out from the crowd!

Another thing I've been liking lately is doing this same style but with two opposite colours rather than the glitter, especially combinations like Blue Moon on all my nails and then Silver Foil on my pinky and index nail. The Foil Nail Paints look great with a matte polish on your other nails, they just work so well together. For the summer I'm excited to use Bright Yellow on all my nails and then Gold Foil on my little finger and index finger nail, I just think that would look so bright and fun for the summer.

I love playing around with different combinations of nail polish, and I especially like using the glitter nail trend and then putting a spin on it to add some individuality!

What combinations are you loving?

Cutey Review!

I've just filmed a really exciting review for you all! It's a review of some gorgeous bracelets from Cutey.co.uk. It's a website which so far sells bracelets but is looking into doing costume jewellery and necklaces as well.

The bracelets I've received from them are so so gorgeous, my first impressions were at how heavy they felt, I'd been on their website several times to lovingly gaze through all the bracelets they made and had noticed they all sat at around £12.99 so knowing they were so inexpensive I was pleasantly surprised by the great quality of them.

They resemble a Pandora Charm bracelet which I love (but never got the heart to part with my hard earned money to get one) ha ha ha! They come in a wide variety of colour and have some of the cutest charms on I've ever seen, I mention them all in the video. But some of my favourites were the dangly love heart charm with a girl and boy kissing which was super cute, and a plain silver one with what looked like a laser cut detailing on all over it. That was probably my favourite little charm it's just really delicate and had such an elegance to it.

In the video I show five of the bracelets that are available at cutey.co.uk and talk about a couple on the website which I think I'll be treating myself to as well! I'm running a give away for my subscribers to get the're hands on one of these gorgeous bracelets, all you need to do is get on Cutey.co.uk, look through the bracelets, pick your favourite and leave it in a comment on my Cutey Review video and I will pick four winners.

I'll post the photos of all four bracelets I'm giving away so you can look at them in detail and get an idea of which one you'd love if your one of the winners!

Here they are in all their beautiful sparkly glory:

Oneiroi

Eros

Momus

Pontus

So good luck entering the give away and send our love over to Cutey.co.uk!

Lush Haul!

I've just filmed a Lush Haul video for my beauty channel, and I thought I'd right an accompanying blog post! Here I'll post you the photos of my Lush goodies and I'll jot down the prices as well.

You'll have to let me know in the comments if you've tried any of these and what you think to them. Also any recommendations of new Lush stuff to try let me know!

This Tea Tree Water smells great and from the reviews on the website it works great too! I'll be filming a review as soon as I've used all the products. Tea Tree Water £3.75 for 100g

This American Cream conditioner I've used before and the smell of this is so so amazing, It's full of sweet vanilla and it's just perfect I love it! American Cream £4.25 for 100g

Aqua Mirabilis is a body butter bar, I've used one before and when it ran out I missed it like mad and couldn't wait to get hold of another one! Aqua Mirabilis Body Butter £5.50

This is one of the new things I'm most excited about, Glorious Mud Shower Scrub. Apparently when you rub it all over your body in the shower it turns into your very own mud bath like wash, how great does that sound!? I'll be reviewing this one as soon as I've used it, although it has the word 'mud' in it, it smells so delicious. Glorious Mud Shower Scrub £3.95

Yuzu and Cocoa Bubbleroon, this is a bubble bar, and it just looks so cute. I love the fact that it's two halves and is joined together. I can't decide what this one smells like or what I think to the scent. It is really relaxing and feels really creamy so I imagine it will give my bath water an amazing consistancy, in fact I think I might use this one tonight! I'll let you know what I think to it. Yuzu and Cocoa Bubbleroon £2.95

This is a bubble bar that I got on sale, I guess from the name that it's one from the Christmas collection. This is Three Gold Rings Bubble Bar, It looks adorable and reminds me of a distant cousin of the comforter ha ha! I'm glad I was quick enough to snap one of these up on sale before they all run out, actually I'm not sure how I managed to miss it over the holiday period! Three Gold Rings Bubble Bar £1.88

I hope you enjoyed watching my Lush Haul on YouTube and reading this blog post!

Lipstick Tips and Tricks!

I decided today to share with you all some lipstick tips and tricks! There's more to lipstick than there first seems, I hope you find these useful and if you have any other tips and tricks you know leave them in a comment below.

The first think to overcome is picking the right colour in the shop, different skin tones can pull off different shades. If you have pale lips, the lipstick shades you should lean towards are, beige, sandy pink, light coral, pale pink and bright red. If you have medium lips, you should look at colours like brown, rose, pink, orange and warm red. If you have dark lips you should choose colours like brown, deep red, plum, deep chocolate, deep raisin/berries. And finally if you have two-tones lips you should head towards colours like chocolate, blackberry, deep plum, deep raisin and deep red.

A fab way to check the colour of the lipsticks your looking at whilst in the shop is rather than testing the colour on the back of your hand, test it on your fingertip. This way you get a better idea of whether the colour will suit your skin tone or not because you can hold your finger tip up to your face and check the colour against your skin. The other benefit of doing it this way is that the skin on your fingertip is much more similar to the skin on your lips that the back of your hand would be.

Always wanted to be able to apply your lipstick once and get it to last all day?
Well now you can! The trick here is to apply a coat of regular lipstick and then take a single ply tissue, lay it over your lips and powder lightly over the tissue, this will set the colour and stop it feathering or running.

Now you've got your lipstick to last all day, you want it to make your lips look plump and full, right?
Well you can! All you need to do is once you've applied your lipstick, apply a tiny bit of gold or silver lipgloss on your bottom lip and wola! Plump and full lips. Be sure not to blot your lips after this step because it will ruin the effect!

I hope you enjoyed all these lipstick tips and tricks, and I look forward to reading yours in the comments below, also let me know which ones of these you try and tell me what you think to them!
